Used to blow my whole Saturday on gig apps, now I batch them in 3 hours
For about a year I was driving for DoorDash and Instacart every free evening and weekend, usually 20 to 25 hours a week around my bartending shifts at The Rusty Nail. It wore me down for maybe $400 a week after gas, and I was running on 5 hours of sleep most days. About 4 months ago I cut it to two blocks a week, Sunday morning and Wednesday lunch, and now I pull almost the same money in 10 hours. Turns out lunch rushes near the hospital on 9th beat dinner crowds every time. What side gigs actually pay you more per hour the less you work them?
