Vent: my Etsy shop took 14 tries to get the shipping weight right

I spent 6 evenings weighing mugs on a $12 kitchen scale after the post office sent back 3 boxes, and I still don't trust my numbers, so how do you all handle weight for breakable stuff without buying a $200 scale?
