Pro tip: Heard a guy at the hardware store say he's got a half-built chicken coop in his yard from 2021
I was grabbing some PVC cement and this older guy was telling the cashier about his '2021 chicken palace' that's just a frame with a tarp. He said he got the chicks on a whim, built the base in a weekend, then life got busy. The chicks grew up in his garage, which he said was a huge mistake. It made me realize my own shed project stalled for the same reason, a big start then no plan for the boring middle bits. Has anyone else finished a project after letting it sit for over a year? How'd you get the push?

That story is so familiar it hurts. My own garage has a partially assembled workbench that became a flat surface to pile other junk on for a good eighteen months. The push to finally finish it came from pure annoyance, honestly. I got sick of moving the same tools around it every time I needed something. One Saturday I just cleared everything off and decided I would not leave the garage until the last shelf was screwed in. Sometimes you just have to pick a day and refuse to let yourself off the hook.

My dad's old metal shop had a half built storage rack that sat for three years. It became the place to lean broken lawn chairs and wet tarps. The turning point was when a can of paint fell off it and ruined a brand new air compressor. That kind of stupid loss makes you mad enough to grab the wrench and just do it right.
