The $90 bread proofing box that turned into a science project
I bought this fancy proofing box back in January because my kitchen is freezing and my sourdough kept coming out like hockey pucks. Spent $90 on it, and honestly it worked TOO well, my dough doubled in like 2 hours and then collapsed into a sticky puddle while I was on a call. That same week I decided to ignore it and try the oven with just a bowl of hot water, and that loaf was actually better. So now the box sits in my garage collecting dust, and I keep wondering if I should sell it or give it one more shot with a shorter proof time. Has anyone else had a tool that overperformed and messed up your whole rhythm?
