Can we talk about how skipping rent to pay for a fun trip was my wake-up call?

I thought experiences matter more than bills, but getting evicted taught me hard lessons. Is it ever okay to prioritize joy over responsibility or is that just childish?

That wake-up call sounds brutal.

Wait, was it actually a bucket of water? That's not a wake up call, that's an assault. I can't believe any job thinks that's okay. Straight up unhinged behavior.

Sometimes the real problem is thinking joy and bills have to be opposites. You can plan for both, like setting aside a tiny "fun fund" each paycheck so trips don't wreck your rent. Calling it childish just shames people instead of teaching them how to actually balance things.
