I hit 27 unanswered voicemails from my doctor's office and finally admitted I am the problem
I had a molar that ached every time I drank cold water, starting around late January. Instead of just calling and booking a cleaning, I let it ride because I kept telling myself it was probably nothing and I did not want to deal with insurance questions. Every time the dentist's number popped up on my phone, I would swipe it away and think, I will call back tomorrow. Last Tuesday I opened my voicemail app to clear space and saw the count: 27 messages from the same office over four months, each one saying some version of "we have not heard from you about scheduling." The last one was from a real person named Denise who sounded tired and asked if I was okay. That was the one that got me. I called back that afternoon, and it turns out I owe them nothing for the reminders and the cleaning is just $95 with my plan. The tooth needed a filling but nothing close to the root canal I had imagined. Has anyone else let a phone call snowball like this, and what finally got you to pick up?
