Took me 8 months to figure out my smoke detector beeped because of dust, not low battery
After replacing the battery like 6 times and still getting chirps at 3am, I finally vacuumed the thing out and it stopped. Has anyone else dealt with a phantom beep that wasn't the battery?

Respectfully, dust usually isn't the culprit. Check if it's hardwired with a backup battery.

Wait, so you're saying the backup battery can keep it going even after the main power's out? Huh, I always figured dust buildup was the main cause of those false alarms, but that makes way more sense now. Thanks for setting me straight on that.
