That week we pulled a gearbox twice because of one O-ring

Back in 2009 at the Sacramento hangar we spent 3 days swapping a 737 thrust reverser actuator, only to find the new part had a bad O-ring from the factory. The second pull took 4 hours less but my foreman just said 'parts are people too, they mess up.' Anyone else ever had a new part fail right out of the box?
