Bailed on my community garden plot after one tomato season and I still feel weird about it
Signed up in March, put in maybe 40 hours and $60 of starts, and by August the weeds had won and I just stopped showing up. My plot neighbor Deb left a note saying she'd water my peppers but I never went back to grab them. Anyone else quit a hobby mid-season and just ghost the whole group?

I did the same thing with a bowling league at Sunset Lanes back in 2019. Paid the full season fee, showed up for maybe six weeks, then my average dropped below 90 and I just stopped answering the group text. The team captain, this guy named Ray, kept my name on the roster till the end of the season out of what I guess was pity. I ran into him at a grocery store two years later and he acted like nothing happened, which somehow made it worse. The garden thing is probably the same deal, Deb will forget about the peppers way before you stop feeling weird about it.
