Vent: I figured out a way to get my boss to approve projects faster
My boss would sit on my project requests for weeks, always saying he was 'too busy' to look. Last month, I started putting a fake, earlier deadline on the request form, like 'needs approval by Friday for vendor cutoff.' He signed off on three projects in two days without even reading them. I feel a bit bad, but it got the work moving. Anyone else have a harmless trick that cuts through the red tape?

My buddy Mark in accounting had a manager who never opened shared files. He started naming every spreadsheet "Q3 BONUS POOL DRAFT" and suddenly got feedback in under an hour. It's wild what a little creative wording can do, right? Makes you wonder why the real work title wasn't enough of a priority.
