Check your bathroom fan vent before you paint, trust me on this one

Had a mold patch show up in my bedroom corner in Des Moines after 8 months, turns out the fan was just blowing moist air into the attic space because the duct was never attached. Anyone else find a hidden landlord special like that after moving in?
