Landlord said paint the walls white or lose $300, and he was dead wrong
My landlord in Cleveland told me in March I had to paint every wall back to plain white or lose $300 of my deposit, so I bought a $25 gallon of white and did the whole place myself over one weekend. He walked through, said the finish looked "amateur," and kept $150 anyway for touch-ups I never needed. Did a coat of cheap white paint ever save your deposit, or did your landlord find some other reason to keep the cash?
