Chasing a 2020 LG error code burned 3 hours before I checked the manual online

Got a call for a fridge not cooling in Austin, customer said it was throwing a random code and I figured it was the compressor board based on my last two LGs... after swapping a $180 control module, the code came right back. Turns out there was a service bulletin about a faulty sensor harness behind the evaporator cover, and the part was $12 at the supply house. Anyone else getting burned by newer units where the obvious fix isn't the actual fix anymore?
