Unpopular opinion: I hate Samsung fridge ice makers and I don't care who knows it
Had a customer in Mesa with a French door Samsung where the ice maker froze solid and I figured it'd be a 45 minute job, turned into 3 hours and two trips back to the truck. The auger motor tested fine, the heater ohmed out good, but the real problem was the drain tube was kinked behind the unit from the factory and water kept backing up into the ice room. I ended up pulling the whole fridge out, rerouting that tube with a zip tie, and replacing the ice maker assembly anyway because the seal was shot. I swear these things are designed to fail right after the warranty ends and the customer always thinks it's my fault. Anyone else just started quoting these as a 2 visit job from the start?
