Went back to paper work orders after 8 months on the tablet, and my callback rate dropped by half
I switched our whole shop to tablets about a year ago because the young guy I hired kept losing the paper tickets in his van. For 8 months he was typing notes into the app, and I kept getting calls back to the same houses for the same issues. Three weeks ago I printed out the old carbon copy work orders again and told him to fill one out before he leaves each stop. Callbacks went from about 6 a month to 3, and the notes on the paper are way more detailed because he has to write it all out. Turns out typing on a screen made him lazy, but a pen in his hand makes him slow down and think. Anyone else notice this with their crew, or is it just my guy?
