That one afternoon where every crane stop went perfect, then the last one went sideways

We had a job up in Portland last month, three big removals lined up for the day. First two went so smooth, we were done by 2pm, ahead of schedule. The crew was joking around, everything felt easy. Then the last tree, this giant red maple, the rope got twisted around a branch and we spent 45 minutes trying to free it. Turns out the throw weight was worn down and kept slipping. I should have checked it before we started. Ended up staying till 7pm and the homeowner brought us pizza out of pity. Anyone else have days where the good part makes the bad part feel worse? What do you do to keep the crew's head in the game after a long string of easy jobs?
