Customer feedback on my color match changed my mixing routine for good

Had a guy bring back a bumper I painted last month because the metallic flake looked off in direct sunlight. He was polite about it but pointed out the flakes sat too flat compared to the factory panel. I always thought my gun settings were fine, but he was right. I started checking my flake at three different angles before clearing, and now I also spray a test card under a halogen light first. Took an extra 15 minutes per job, but I've had zero callbacks since. Anyone else had a customer spot something you checked a hundred times but still missed?
