I wired a connector backwards for 8 months because the pin numbers were hidden in tiny text
I was crimping new harness ends for the cabin lighting on a King Air and kept getting odd readings on the tester, so I just wrote it off as a flaky meter. Turns out the connector shell has the pin numbers stamped on the back side in letters about the size of a grain of rice, and I had been counting from the wrong corner since March. My lead caught it when he looked over my shoulder and asked why I was going off the hook instead of the dot. I pulled the drawing and the note in the corner literally says "view from rear" in 6 point font. Eight months of rework on my own bench, all because I got cocky about a plug I thought I knew. How do you all keep track of mating face versus rear view on these weatherpack style shells without losing your mind?
