Snagged a bad crimp on a 737 at ORD, now I check every lug twice
Last week I was troubleshooting a intermittent pitot heat fault on a 737 at ORD. Turned out a connector lug had a hairline crack from a bad crimp, the pin still felt tight but resistance was all over the place. My lead said "trust the pull test but not your eyes" and he was right. Now I'm using a 10x loupe on every terminal I terminate, has anyone else had a crimp look fine but fail a resistance check?
