Our department's White Mountains loop taught me a lot about route details

We linked three old shelters on a four day trip last fall. Figuring out where to cache food was a big part of the plan, similar to prepping for a job event. The trail had steady climbs but amazing views of the autumn leaves. I think doing this together really helped our group coordination.

Planning those food caches is such a specific headache, but it feels so good when it works out. Those long climbs with the group really do force you to get your teamwork sorted, fast. The payoff with the fall colors at the top must have been incredible, a memory that sticks for sure.

Yeah, that food cache panic is so real. Makes the whole summit view hit different when you earn it together like that. Those are the trips that define a crew for years.
