TIL I wasted $120 on a fancy water filter for the trail
Bought one of those expensive squeeze filters with the ceramic element before a 5 day trip in the Smokies. Clogged up on day 2 from silty creek water and I spent an hour in camp trying to backflush it. Switched back to my old $25 iodine tablets and never had that problem again. Anybody else ditch the high tech gear for the cheap stuff?
