A friend saw my coop and pointed out a huge ventilation mistake

They said my single small window wasn't enough for 8 hens, and after a hot week last month, I saw what they meant. I added two more screened vents up high and the difference in air flow is night and day. Has anyone else had to fix a ventilation setup after their flock grew?

My neighbor's coop had a similar problem with just one vent. Her six birds were panting last July, and she ended up adding a whole ridge vent along the top. It made me check my own setup, and I realized my pop door was letting in more drafts than proper airflow. What did your friend say was the biggest sign your hens were too hot?

Saw my hens holding their wings out from their sides, which was the dead giveaway (they looked like little feathery airplanes).

Yeah, the panting is a huge red flag for sure.
