My hen Diane laid an egg in my truck's cupholder and I just found it 3 weeks later
Three weeks ago I hauled a bag of feed out to the coop and left the truck door open for maybe two minutes, which was all Diane needed. She hopped in, settled into the cupholder like it was a nest box, and dropped an egg right there. I didn't spot it until last Tuesday when I reached for my coffee and grabbed a cold egg instead. The wild part is it sat through 90 degree afternoons in the driveway and never cracked or smelled, it just kind of dried out in there. My wife says the cupholder is now hers and I should stop arguing about it. So am I supposed to check the truck for eggs every single day now, or is my hen just strange?
