I spent last Saturday building stairs off my back deck in Akron and proudly showed them to my neighbor, who just stared for a few seconds and said "you know those are gonna rack, right?" Turns out I skipped the diagonal bracing and he pointed out my stringers are also 20 inches apart instead of 16. Am I the only one who never thinks about side to side wobble until someone else grabs the railing and shakes it?
