The roommate who turned our kitchen into a lab at 3 AM
My old roommate Dave decided he was gonna make his own hot sauce last January, which sounds cool until you wake up to him wearing safety goggles and a respirator over our gas stove. He had like 40 habaneros boiling in a pot and was measuring vinegar with a syringe, I swear he looked like a chemist from a bad movie. When I asked what he was doing he just said 'pH balance is critical' without looking away from the pot. The whole apartment smelled like pepper spray for two days and our cat refused to come out of my closet. He burned his hand pretty bad when a bubble popped and somehow still finished the sauce, which tasted like pure regret. He moved out in March, but I still find tiny orange stains on the ceiling. Has anyone else had a roommate get way too serious about a hobby that should have stayed a simple hobby? That sauce cost us our security deposit, no joke.
