Am I the only one whose bank branch stopped feeling like a bank after they remodeled it?
My local branch in Dayton got redone 8 months back and now there's no teller counter, just tablets and one guy standing there with an iPad. I went in to deposit a $300 check and he tried to walk me through the app instead, so now I just drive to the branch by the mall that still has actual people. Anyone else notice their bank turning into a coffee shop with worse service?
It's the same thing that happened to grocery stores, right? They took out the real checkout lanes and put in self scan, then act shocked when people hate it. My pharmacy did it too, now you stand at a little kiosk and yell at a screen while a lady behind the counter just watches. It's like every business decided the best way to serve customers is to make the customer do all the work. Half the time the tablet doesn't even work and you still end up waiting for a human anyway. We didn't ask for any of this.
