Can we talk about the time my broker met me at a diner in Tacoma to explain a clause?
He pointed at a line in the loan papers and said, 'The bank won't tell you this, but this fee is negotiable if you push back,' which saved me almost $900 in junk charges.

That's a great story, but just to be clear, it's usually an origination fee, not a junk fee, that you can sometimes haggle down. The junk fees are often smaller line items for processing or admin stuff that they just add on. Still, good on your broker for looking out.

My last refi in Seattle, I pushed on the admin fee and got it cut from $350 to a flat $100.
