DAE get burned by a bank 'instant transfer' fee that cost me $35 to move my own money
So last month I needed to move $600 from my checking account to my savings account at the same bank, and I clicked the 'instant transfer' button without reading the fine print. Turns out that button came with a $35 fee, and the money showed up in my savings in about 8 seconds. I called customer service the next morning and the guy on the phone basically told me the fee was standard for instant transfers and there was nothing he could do. What gets me is that a regular transfer would have been free and just taken one business day, which I totally could have waited for since it was my own account. I filed a complaint through their online form and got a canned email back two days later saying the same thing. So I'm out $35 for being impatient. Has anyone actually gotten a fee like this refunded, and if so what did you say to get them to budge?
