PSA: my bank flagged a $4.75 charge at a hardware store in Dayton and let a $380 one go by
Last week I got a fraud alert for a $4.75 coffee at a gas station in Dayton, but the $380 charge at a random online shop went right on by. I called and the rep said the small ones get flagged first because scammers test with small amounts. That makes sense I guess, but it felt backwards when my actual balance was the thing at risk. Now I check the app before my coffee hits and I'm wondering if I should turn on alerts for every single charge. Has anyone set a dollar limit that actually works for them?
