The day a $60 cash deposit got flagged and frozen my whole account

I dropped $60 cash into my checking account at a branch in Austin last Tuesday, then a week later my card declined at a gas station with zero warning. The fraud team said the deposit tripped some automated risk filter and they needed a week to 'review', meanwhile rent was sitting in there. Is this normal for smaller banks or am I just unlucky with their system?
