My school board pulled a book from the 8th grade list last month, and I was the parent who showed up to read it out loud

At the Wexford County school board meeting on October 14th, they voted 4 to 3 to pull a novel off the 8th grade reading list, mostly because one guy called it filth and nobody else had cracked the cover. I stood up during public comment with my copy, read two pages out loud, and asked the board which exact sentence crossed a line, and they could not name one. The book is back on the shelf now, but I had to do their homework for them in front of 60 people. Curious if anyone here has read a challenge aloud at a meeting and if it actually moved anybody's vote.
