A 70 year old barber on my block in Baltimore gave me one tip about my neck strips, and it fixed my whole setup
Last month a retired barber named Gus stopped by my shop on Eastern Ave in Baltimore and watched me do a fade for about ten minutes. He pointed at my neck strips and said I was pulling them too tight before the cut, which was making clients tense up in the chair and wiggle. I started putting them on loose and letting the paper hang a bit, and my last 3 Saturday crowds went way smoother with fewer nicks. Feels dumb that a 2 dollar box of strips was half the problem, but there it is. Any of you got a small habit like that, something you changed after another barber called it out?
