Clipper blade gap numbers seem way off compared to what I measured

I was checking my Andis Masters with a feeler gauge before a big weekend of appointments and the #1 blade gap read 0.004 inches when the manual says it should be 0.002. I double checked it a few times and even tried another pair from my kit, same thing. Turns out the factory specs get thrown off after a few drops on tile floors, which I never really thought about. Anyone else notice their blade gaps drift over time and do you adjust them to the card that comes with the clipper or trust the feeler gauge?

Buddy's clippers read way off after one drop, he just eyeballs it now.
