Clipper blade tension was my blind spot for 6 years

A kid in Denver asked me to cut his hair with a faded guard and his hair kept snagging, so I blamed the clippers, switched brands twice, then he said my blade tension felt loose when he played with it. Took me 20 seconds to fix it, and now I wonder how many other cuts suffered quietly. Any barbers here ever have that one tool setting they just ignored forever?
