PSA: I used to freehand every fade with one pair of Andis clippers and a comb, now I own 6 guards and a $220 Wahl
When I started cutting hair at my uncle's place in Tampa in 2009, it was one pair of Andis Masters clippers, a flat top comb, and a lot of prayer. If a kid wanted a skin fade I'd just get the clippers as close as I could and hope his mom didn't look too hard at the back of his head. Now I've got 6 different guards, a Wahl Senior for the bulk work, and I finish with a straight razor on the edges, which feels like cheating some days. Anybody else miss the days when you could fit your whole kit in one drawer, or is that just me being old?
