Rant: I thought that $12 comb guard set from a swap meet in Tulsa was junk
Figured the plastic would snap on the first fade but it has held up fine for 8 months now. Any of you got a cheap tool that surprised you like that?

The swap meet part is what does it, right? Thing is those $12 sets at the flea market are usually the same molds the big brands use, just without the logo stamped on. I've seen guys pay $25 for a guard set that came out of the same factory in China, and the plastic is identical. Only real gap is the fit on the clipper, cheap ones sometimes wiggle a bit, so keep an eye on that. But 8 months is plenty of proof, so your mileage may vary and all that, but I'd say you got a good one.
