A customer's comment about my chain lube changed my whole routine

Had a guy in the shop last March watch me finish a tune-up and ask why I was putting that lube on the chain before wiping it dry. He said all I was doing was attracting grit for the first mile. Switched to applying, letting it sit for 10 minutes, then wiping until the links looked almost dry. That single change cut my customers' complaints about noisy drivetrains by maybe half over the summer. Any of you use a different wait time before the final wipe?
