Found a trick for getting stubborn disc brake rotors true
I was fighting a wobbly rotor on a customer's bike last Tuesday, the kind that rubs no matter how much you bend it with a standard adjusting tool. After about 20 minutes of frustration, I pulled out a small crescent wrench and used it as a lever against the caliper body to apply even pressure. It sounds crude but it worked way better than the proper tool because it didn't slip off the rotor edge. Anyone else have a weird tool that works better than the purpose-made one?

Right, because the multi-million dollar tooling industry clearly hasn't thought about using a basic wrench as a glorified crowbar yet. I'm amazed my bike shop hasn't just told me to bring all my tools from home and save them the trouble of designing things. Next time I'll just use a butter knife and really confuse the engineers.

I watched a Park Tool video a few months back where one of their guys mentioned using a hub mounted rotor truing tool, but he also said he's seen mechanics use a big adjustable wrench in a pinch. Seems like @wesleybutler might need to watch that video too, because the wrench trick works fine if you're careful and have steady hands.
