Guy at my local shop in Cincinnati said he refuses to true wheels for customers anymore, just straight up says no
He told me he got tired of spending 45 minutes on a wheel only for the guy to come back a month later saying it was out of true again. I get the frustration but refusing the work feels like giving up on the craft, since a proper tension and stress relief job should hold up fine. So is this a trend now, shops quietly dropping wheel building and truing because the money and time never add up?
