My coworker's one comment made me stop skipping character arcs in shows
She said I was missing the whole point by fast-forwarding through backstory episodes, and now I rewatch entire seasons from season one, so has anyone else had a criticism like that totally flip how you binge?
A buddy of mine used to skip every flashback scene in Lost because he just wanted to see what happened on the island. His roommate sat him down and pointed out that the flashbacks were the whole reason the island stuff even mattered, and he ended up rewatching all six seasons over a couple months. He still texts me random theories about that show years later, so the guy clearly got hooked once he stopped cutting corners.
