Serious question, did anyone else think reality TV was trash until a rainy weekend in Portland changed their mind?
I used to talk so much junk about those shows. Called them fake, dumb, a waste of time. Then last October I got stuck at my sister's place in Portland for 3 days when a storm knocked out the power at my apartment. Only thing working was her old laptop and a stack of burned DVDs she left out. First one was a season of a show about people flipping houses. I figured I'd hate watch an episode. I watched six. By day two I was yelling at the screen about a bad tile job. My sister kept laughing at me. I still think half of it is staged, but something about watching people mess up and fix it in 40 minutes just hit different when I had nothing else to do. Now I keep one of those shows on in the background while I fold laundry. Has anyone else gotten sucked in by a show they swore they'd never watch?
