The closed caption habit that ruined my first watch through

Watched The Wire back in 2017 with captions on. Thought I was catching every detail. Then last summer rewatched it without them. Realized I'd been reading the bottom of the screen the whole time, missing the acting. The pause between McNulty's lines, the look on Stringer's face. Took me 5 episodes to adjust. Anyone else switch off captions and see a totally different show?
