A guy at the supply house in Akron said my hammer control was "all wrist," and it fixed my tapers
I was buying 3/4 inch round stock at a supply house in Akron two months back and the old guy behind the counter watched me tap my tongs on the edge of the bench. He said I was swinging all wrist and no shoulder, and that my tapers would stay lumpy because of it. I did not believe him at first, but I tried dropping my elbow and letting my shoulder do the work on a set of punches that same night. Three weeks later my tapers are clean and my elbow does not ache after an hour at the anvil. Has anyone else been called out by some random guy at a supply counter and had it actually stick?
