Just found out my main coal supplier is mixing in treated wood scraps
I got a batch last week that smelled weird when it burned, sort of chemical. Asked around and found out they're grinding up old pallets and construction wood to stretch the product. That stuff can put off nasty fumes when you forge with it, right? Have you all checked where your fuel is coming from lately?

My last batch smoked like a tire fire, never again.

Seriously, what is with these suppliers trying to poison us for a quick buck? Mixing treated wood into coal is like adding arsenic to your breakfast cereal, but hey, who needs healthy lungs, right? That chemical smell you got is all sorts of nasty stuff burning off, which is terrible for forging since you're right there breathing it in. I heard that treated wood can release cyanide and other fun chemicals when it burns. So yeah, your supplier is basically giving you a free side of cancer with your coal. It's absolutely reckless and people need to call this stuff out.
