Riveting hammer vs. rounding hammer, picked the wrong one first

I was trying to put together a copper sink for a client in Tulsa, and I grabbed a cross peen because that's all I had. The peen kept leaving these crescent dents in the copper, and I had to sand the whole thing down twice. My buddy loaned me his 2 pound riveting hammer with the flat face, and it saved me about 3 hours of cleanup. Has anyone else switched hammers mid-job and regretted not doing it sooner?
