Hit 500 logged plays on BGG and my shelf tells a weird story
I started logging my plays on BoardGameGeek back in 2019 mostly to settle arguments with my Tuesday group about who actually won last time. Just crossed 500 plays this week and when I looked at the breakdown it was nothing like I expected. Turns out 218 of those are just one game, Codenames, because my in-laws ask for it every single visit and I never say no. The bigger shock was seeing 41 games on my shelf with zero plays logged, some still in shrink wrap from 2021 sales. I always thought I was a heavy euro guy but my top 10 most played is all party and filler stuff under 30 minutes. So now I am wondering, is my real taste the games I buy or the games I keep coming back to? Curious if anyone else has done the math on their own logged plays and been surprised by what it says.

Buying games and playing games are two different hobbies, who cares which is the "real" one?
