Bought a $280 torque wrench at the supply house in Gary last year, and my old $60 one was just as good on 90% of the job
Everyone on the crew told me I needed to step up to the fancy digital one, but after using both on the same tube bundle job I am not sold. The cheap beam style one held its setting all week and the fancy one needed a battery swap on day three. For snugging up handhole covers and small flange bolts, the old one did the exact same thing. The digital is nice for spec work where the torque value has to be logged, I will give it that. What do you all use for everyday jobs where nobody is checking paperwork?
