Depends how you define 'ruin'. Most things just need a quick fix once you spot the problem.

Oh man, the real danger zone is when you don't spot the problem until way later. Like @wren983 said, a miscommunication can snowball. You fix one thing, but the earlier mistake already twisted three other parts. By then you're not doing a quick fix, you're basically starting over with extra steps. It's less about fixing a problem and more about untangling a whole mess you built on top of it.
