My club picked The Midnight Library and I'm the only one who thinks the ending ruined it
We met at a coffee shop in Portland last Tuesday and everyone else gave it a 4 or 5, but I stayed at a 2 because the last 30 pages undo the whole point of the book. It felt like the author didn't trust readers to sit with the hard stuff. Am I wrong here, or did anyone else feel like the ending was a cop out?
Hold up, you gave it a 2 because of the ending? That's kind of harsh. The whole book is about her learning to accept her real life, so the ending fits that. Feels like you wanted it to stay sad just to prove a point.
