My sister in law said our club picks books like a grocery list, and I keep thinking about it
She sat in on our meeting in March when we did The Overstory and afterwards she said we spend 40 minutes on plot and 5 on why it made us feel anything. I pushed back at first, but she was right. We had a whole debate about the ending and nobody mentioned the part that actually got to them. So how do you get a group of 8 people to talk about the feeling side without it turning into a therapy session?
